This is a curated list for OzHoliday destinations, not a replacement for emergency warnings or each authority's complete alert service.
Between 16 August and 19 November, selected areas may close from 4:00 pm to 7:00 am for deer control. Read signs at park entrances and do not enter an active closure area.
Planned-burn preparation closes the Olinda–VW Track fuel-treatment area and Barges, Bartlett, Tchans and VW tracks from the start of works until completion. Works are scheduled from early October and depend on suitable weather.
The Penguin Parade mobility buggy and boardwalk toilets are unavailable during works; wheelchairs and toilets at the Visitor Centre and bus car park remain available. The Nobbies Visitor Centre and its amenities are closed, while the precinct views, car park and boardwalks remain open.
Stockyard campground and its toilet block are closed until further notice. Big Drift Walking Track and Stockyard carpark are closed during infrastructure works, with reopening expected around mid-October subject to completion. Entrance roadworks may cause delays through 20 November. Check Parks Victoria before travelling.
From 5:00 pm on 19 October to 7:00 pm on 21 October, aerial deer control closes Prom Wildlife Walk, the northern overnight circuit, 5 Mile Beach, Big Drift, Stockyard, Cotters Road and several northern visitor areas. Check the full Parks Victoria list before travelling.
The gallery building is closed and scheduled to reopen in 2028. Its creative program continues at off-site locations across Bendigo, so check the official program rather than planning a visit to the View Street building.
Mount Hay Road has no vehicle or pedestrian access during fire-trail upgrades. This also closes access to Lockleys Pylon, Fortress Ridge, Butterbox Canyon, Fortress Canyon, Mount Hay and associated walking tracks until 17 December 2026.
There is no vehicle access to Tallowa Dam via Tallowa Dam Road while a flood-damaged section is reconstructed, with completion expected in mid-2027. Beehive Point and Bendeela remain alternative access points, and Three Views walking track is open.
The ruins at Point Stephens Lighthouse and Fingal Island are closed to pedestrian access for public safety. Do not enter the site; penalties apply for ignoring the closure.
Track works are underway at Kingsley Beach in Tomaree National Park, with closures or detours possible. Follow signs and directions from staff and contractors when visiting.
Some Lamington and Tamborine areas remain closed after severe-weather damage. Woonoongoora walkers' camp reopened with limited bookings from 1 October while upgrade works continue, Cedar Creek has limited parking, and the Tallanbana trailhead toilets are closed. Check live alerts before choosing a walk.
Lake Allom toilets and water taps are closed for urgent repairs through 1 November. Happy Valley's beach access ramp is fully closed with a signed detour, while Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk, Cornwells Road and Northern Forests scenic drive also have works or detours. Check the current list before fixing each day's route.
Twelve walking tracks, including Trezona, Old Blinman, St Mary Peak outside trail and Pound Gap, close nightly for pest control. From 1 to 31 October the closure runs from 8:30 pm to 5:00 am; all tracks remain open outside the listed hours.
Bunyeroo Gorge on Bunyeroo Gorge Road remains closed pending repairs after heavy rain. Brachina Gorge Road is open to four-wheel-drive vehicles only; all campgrounds are open. Check the live notice before driving.
Most of Ikara–Flinders Ranges National Park will close from 9:00 pm on 6 November until 9:00 pm on 9 November for pest control and monitoring. Check the official notice for the limited areas that remain open.
Bushfire recovery closures remain on the Deep Creek Waterfall hikes from Tapanappa Lookout and Tent Rock Road, Deep Creek Circuit Hike and Aaron Creek Hike. Use the official open-area map when planning your day.
The park is reporting higher-than-normal feral bee activity. Take precautions when booking campsites or visiting, and follow park advice and signage.
