Why go
The Three Sisters deserve their fame, but the stronger weekend uses Katoomba as an arrival point rather than the whole trip. Add one well-matched walk, an unhurried town stop and a second escarpment view after the day-trippers leave.

The essential first view, with accessible facilities and a short walk to Oreades lookout. Go early, then move beyond the busiest precinct.

Before you go
Echo Point has paid, time-limited parking and is busiest on weekends. It includes five accessible spaces, but arriving early or using local transport is often calmer.
Echo Point is accessible. The Three Sisters walk is suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams to Oreades lookout, with slopes up to 10%; assistance is recommended beyond that point.
Pets are not permitted in Blue Mountains National Park. Certified assistance animals are permitted, subject to the park's visitor guidance.
Conditions and access are changeable. Do not enter cliff-edge pools, waterfalls or waterways unless the official site explicitly identifies a managed swimming area and conditions are safe.
